The Future is now, apparently

Well, I made it. I’ve finally hit the ground running on the bloody internet. Here I am, a sequence of bits for you to peruse at your leisure. Web 2.0 is about community, and now I’m a little sodding community of my own. Hello digital world. I hope you’re happy.

Not that I’m really that bitter, in fact i see this just as a bit of an experiment (in fact I think of my entire life as an experiment, or a grand piece of performance art, depeding on whether I’m feeling scientific or dramatic). I haven”t got long before I go to work, but I just thought I’d write something, perhaps start setting out why I’m here (I won’t finish, but I’ll continue later on). I can’t imagine many people reading this so I guess its just for my own nefarious purposes (or porpoises) that I’m writing anything anyway.

This is gonna be a place for me to write things. I like writing you see, and don’t do it enough. People always tell me that I should keep a notebook so that when I have an idea I can write it down. Which is all well and good if your handwriting isn’t remarkably similar to the idiotic scrawl of a 2 year old who’s taken acid and forgotten the entirety of the alphabet and replaced it with his own system of complicated spirals and vertical lines ordered, seemingly randomly, across the page. In short, I can only barely read my own writing, which means that a notebook full of ideas would be virtually useless.

So I looked to the future for an answer, and it gave me…the webternet. So here I am, jotting down any random thoughts in hope that I can use them later. Why blog (you may be asking, or at least I am…and I’m the only REAL reader here) when that’s publicly available and therefore ideas can be stolen? Ah-ha, I retort to myself, getting increasingly confused, first of all, nobody will read it, so that’s no problem, secondly, ideas work better once given an airing…writing it down can be enough to point out some flaws or problems, but getting people to hurl abuse at you is even better, thirdly, I doubt anything I write hear will be worth ’stealing’ anyway and fourthly (i have more…but I think fourthly is a bad word and fifthly is worse, so I’m gonna stop here) the need for ownership and control of ideas and capital in this world is possibly responsible for most of the world’s problems. Free exchange of ideas and things is what a good society should be founded upon…so I don’t give a shit if I’m gonna lose out on the millions I could get by keeping these thoughts to myself…I’d rather have other people change their mind, or disagree with me…or just have an independant thought of any kind.

Anyway, i think I’ve gone a bit over the top now. I’m heading to work now…when I get there I might continue sorting all this out, and further explain a couple of things about myself before start actually blogging.

PS, I’m sorry if I suddenly stop blogging at any point, I tend to be a little faddy with these projects and get disheartened and give up after a while. Sorry if this happens. I probably blame you for it though…If i’d known you cared this might never have happened.

Alabaster Crippens doesn't entirely believe in objective truth, therefore he can neither confirm or deny the accuracy of any statement, image or impression caused by, or displayed on, these pages of the so called 'internet'. He does however not want to get sued, even if the lawyers, legal system, and the concept of jurisprudence doesn't exist. Therefore if you believe the nonsense posted on here you do so entirely at your own risk. In other words: Don't sue me 'cause I might not mean it. Basically, anything you hear from anyone is unreliable, so if you want the 'truth' you need the perspectives of as many people as you can get..ideally people who are trustworthy and close to the particular 'truth' you wish to inspect. If you start trusting idiots with silly (and obviously made up) names then you're developing some kind of problem. Check your sources, examine their own politcal (or other) motivation, remember that anything people say is opinion unless you are certain that they speak the 'truth'. Even your own eyes can lie. Trust me on that one. Or don't..it doesn't bother me. Finally, everything written here is, to the best of my knowledge written by me and I reserve my right to be recognised as the author of these works. Any input from other sources should be clearly shown, if you note a mistake or anything..tell me..I'll try and sort out the problem. Please ask me if you want to use anything for commercial reasons...I probably won't mind but I need to know I'm not supporting anything I don't want to support. This is an attempt at a legal notice written without legal knowledge. Just follow the principles, I think most of you get what I mean, even if it won't stand up in a court of law. Just be polite you know...like in the good ole days.
