So, I’ve got a really interesting article I want to write, kind of a follow on from the whole Lying Santa shenanigans…but I’m on my home computer in St A and it’s having issues (random shutdowns), so I’m going to have to save it for the new year.
Anyway, I’m back in St A again, on my way to Wales (to those who understand British Geography…this is a little bit of a weird route). I’m going to have a wonderful, wonderful visit to see my mate’s band Bison. All kinds of Ska horns and drums and fun and skanking and so on and cetera. Shall be a wonderful, if far flung and windy, way to usher in a new year. Though as I see it I did that on the solstice. That made more sense. This is just a question of getting a new calendar… and I don’t own a calendar anyway.
Why is everything so goddamn arbitrary these days?
But year…North Wales.
What’s that all about? From a familial perspective, I have some attachment to South Wales, but apparently the NOrth is different. THis is going to involve about five hours of driving (at least) and a lot of that will be through strange mountainous windy peaks and valleys…or something. Beautiful landscape though by all reports. And I have lots of friends at the other end.
I’m looking forward to this.
In fact, I’m generally looking forward to a slightly more stable and balanced year all round. The I Ching seems to agree. My lifestyle is generally becoming more stable and focussed since I finished University. I’m enjoying it all again. I’m even doing loads of ‘learning’ and ‘growing’. Plus this blogging lark is keeping me sane, and keeping me writing even though I still haven’t finished the novel.
Does anyone know anyway of getting all of my blog entries into a OOWriter document easily. Or even word. I just want to do a word count and maybe an ‘autosummarize’. Sounds like a fun idea to me.
Anyway, lets look (briefly and not comprehensively) back at the year.
Finished uni, wrote a novel (unfinished), started blogging, got a minimum wage job that I actually don’t hate that much. Kept my head pretty much sane for the whole year as well. This is perhaps most impressive.
I think I’ve remained fairly open mind/hearted. I think I’ve welcomed plenty of new and wonderful people into the fold of my friends. And thanks to the old blogginess…some of them are even further away than usual…and thanks to Nano…the age range has increased a little.
I can look back with much much positivity. There’s been badness and suffering, regrets and horrors. Plus the outside world is still descending deeper and deeper into some kind of self destructive hyper drive (did I mention that I watched a bit of ‘Wing Commander’ last night? Painful) and hurtling closer and closer to the apocalypse of 2012 (though I still say its due in 2013…I don’t give a fuck what wikipedia tells me any more).
So yeah, I look forward, I’m cautiously optimistic, I look backwards, I see much to be happy with. Obviously this is only possible thanks to being completely Oblivious to that actual goings on in the world. Which lead me to believe that humanity is still fucked
Still…that doesn’t bother me….I think we’ll get just what we deserve. I guess that’s fine with me.
Have a happy new year everybody…it may be our last.
More less self indulgent crap to follow in 2007 (bullshit).
Salaam and stuffs

Oh…and thanks to everybody who’s made my year good. I don’t think I myself had that much to do with it.
Honestly, the I Ching is crap - just ask the Tarot cards!
Lord Cthulhu disagrees.
Happy New Year!
May the Lady Eris sow confusion in the ranks of all media dominators! Or should I have used the feminine?
Strangely, I saw the whole Mayan prophecy thing on the History channel just yesterday, and the first thought that occurred to me was…I gotta finish writing that damn book.
Don’t get too downhearted, it could actually just be the dawning of a new age of peace and harmony among humankind.
Though it’s more likely to be a fiery apocalypse.
Or a wet one maybe.
Or maybe everything is just a big pile of bull nuts.
In the parlance of our times
The confused Lady Eris’ Sow has always led the media dominators. THe dominatrices are left with her calf.
The feminine is left to his own devices.
Or something…and indeed, happy new cthulhu too.
