Who Loves the Sun? – I did, long before anyone else. Maybe

So, I’ve been reacquainted with the ability of the mind to lie.

I was sitting around, minding my business. When out of an orange coloured sky (okay, it was a tv tuned to a ‘chill’ radio station) I heard a cover of the popular song ‘Who loves the sun?’. It was all sun drenched acoustic guitars and lovely female vocal harmonies. Simple and twee and delightful.

I recognised the song.

Kinda.

You see, I remember being a child and writing that song. I actually remember seeing the phrase and wandering around the house singing a song. This was when I was about five. I’m pretty sure that the song I wrote had a different melody and rhythm to the original….but now when I look back I can only remember it like it sounds in my head now. So as far as I’m concerned, I wrote the Velvet Underground hit long before Lou Reed did.

Only I was born about fourteen years after that song was released.

Once again myself and the Warhol set have our lives intricately intertwined.

Bloody Smackheads.

Is this knowledge worth anything to anyone?

No, but watch some videos random people have made to accompany a couple of lovely songs by those time travelling, plagiarising arseholes. Apparently bright colourful animation is the order of the day.

That was lovely wasn’t it.
